Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 3 whole eggs
  • cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier (or orange juice)
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 2 tart apples, cored and thinly sliced (additional)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (you can also use golden cherries, blueberries, raspberries or blackberries without having to vary other ingredients)
  • 1 cup fresh pitted cherries
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees. generously grease a 12 inch shallow baking dish.
  • Whisk milk, eggs, flour, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, and salt until smooth; stir in the liqueur (or orange juice). Batter will be fairly thin.
  • Melt the butter in a frying pan over high heat and add apple slices; sprinkle apples with the additional 2 tablespoons sugar. Saute apples until softened (about 3 to 4 minutes). Distribute the apples evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Pour the batter over the apples and scatter the cherries on top (most of them will sink down into the batter). Bake until golden brown ad lightly puffed (about 30 - 35 minutes) Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
